Got an occasion and need a place?

A birthday, a school reunion, an anniversary, or just a get-together that’s been put off for far too long. The occasion is yours, and we can be the place. For more than ten years, Ožujsko Pub Maksi has been somewhere people come to celebrate, from small gatherings around a single table to parties for a bigger crowd.

Besides birthdays, we also host christenings, first communions, confirmations, office parties and private celebrations. The space adapts to different occasions and group sizes.

Food, drinks and organisation can all be arranged around what you have in mind, whether you’re planning something intimate or want to bring together a bigger crowd. You bring the occasion, and we’ll work out the details together, so you can focus on your guests instead of the logistics.

Food for the whole group

When a big group gets together, the hardest part is agreeing on what to order. That’s why our menu includes dishes made for sharing:

  • Meza for four: cured meats from the Matijević family farm, smoked cow’s cheese, baked homemade štrukli (Zagreb’s cheese-filled pastry), smoked bacon spread and homemade bread. A perfect start while everyone arrives.
  • Žujini zakoni No.4 for four and No.6 for six: big platters of favourites from the menu, from “Nije mazalica” and Oš kokoš chicken to boneless pork ribs, with fries, dips and coleslaw.

And drinks for the whole table

For a bigger group, order a three-litre beer tower of draught beer: Ožujsko, Tomislav, Staropramen, Rezano, Vukovarsko or Grif. There’s sparkling wine for the toasts, and the wine list runs from Graševina and Malvazija to Pošip and reds. For those who don’t drink alcohol, there are plenty of soft drinks, freshly squeezed juices and coffee.

The space and the atmosphere

When it’s warm, the party can easily move out onto the spacious terrace. Maksi has always been a place for music and entertainment too. Over the years we’ve hosted plenty of performers and bands, from stand-up nights to live gigs, and for our 10th birthday Nina Badrić took the stage. Take a look at how it all looked in our gallery.

A few tips for planning

  • Get in touch early, especially if you’re planning a weekend celebration.
  • Confirm the final number of guests a few days in advance.
  • If guests are driving, parking is public, in zone three, at €2.30 for the whole day.
  • If you have special requests, such as a cake, decorations or a particular dish, let us know in advance and we’ll work something out.

Where to find us

Maksi is in Borongaj, at Ulica Divka Budaka 18, right next to Maksimir Stadium. We’re open Tuesday to Sunday and closed on Mondays.
